(12hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in safe work practices and the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).

 

745-152 – Tools and Equipment 1
(12hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in the tools used for heating work.

 

745-153 – Trade Foundations 1
(23hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in construction documents, including blueprints and specifications.  It also provides instruction in math skills.

 

745-154 – Heating 1
(160hrs, non-credit)

This course provides an introduction to heating systems with a focus on oil burners and warm-air appliances.

 

745-155 – Electrical
(33hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in basic electricity and how to perform basic electrical maintenance tasks.

 

745–159 – Shop
(0hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction and practical experience in a shop setting.  Apprentices are given an opportunity for skill development whereby they apply program concepts gained in the classroom through a series of practical applications.  The apprentice will use specific testing equipment to service and maintain forced air heating systems and basic electrical appliances.

This course provides instruction in safety legislation.

 

745-252 – Tools and Equipment II
(6hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in tools and equipment used for hydronic heating and plumbing work.

 

745-253 – Trade Foundations II
(19hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in the science concepts related heat, temperature, matter, density and volume.

 

745-254 – Heating II
(100hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in hydronic heating.

 

745-255 – Plumbing
(109hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in plumbing materials, installation, and maintenance tasks.

 

745-259 – Shop
(0hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in the materials used for carpentry construction and maintenance tasks.

 

745-354 – Carpentry – Concrete
(10hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in basic concrete work.

 

745-355 – Carpentry – Foundations
(20hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in different systems and construction methods used for foundations in the North.

(28hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in framing floors, walls, roofs and ceilings.

 

745-357 – Carpentry – Roofing

14hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in the materials and methods used to apply different types of roof coverings.

 

745-358 – Carpentry – Building Envelope
(10hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in the purpose and installation of a building envelope.

 

745-359 – Carpentry – Exterior Finishing
(24hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in the application of siding and skirting, and the installation of stairs and ramps.

 

745-360 – Carpentry – Windows and Doors
(27hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in the installation of windows and doors and related hardware.

 

745-361 – Carpentry – Interior Finishing
(47hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in how to finish walls, ceilings, flooring, cabinets and tub surrounds.

 

745-362 – Painting
(15hrs, non-credit)

This course provides instruction in the tools, materials and processes used for painting interior and exterior surfaces.

 

745-369 – Shop
(0hrs, non-credit)

This course will allow the student to apply the knowledge they have gained during the in class training.
