Course description:

In this course, students will learn about their personal responsibility for the safety of self and others; the hazards and risks associated with mining; and how to assess, report, identify and control hazards and risks. Students will also become familiar with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); their responsibilities related to the function, use and maintenance of PPE; the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS); and fire safety.
