Aurora College remains committed to the distributed campus model and supporting three strong campuses, as well as serving learners in every community of the Northwest Territories. To that end, for the 2025-2026 academic year, the College has:
- Introduced the new General Studies Diploma, which will be delivered in person in Fort Smith and online;
- Added part-time, in-person Personal Support Worker Certificate deliveries in Fort Smith, Inuvik and Behchokǫ̀;
- Expanded academic upgrading deliveries to online delivery that can be accessed from any of the NWT’s 33 communities – in addition to being available at each campus. The majority of the online courses have previously only been available in person on campus.
In addition:
- Seven new trades and apprenticeship programs are being added in 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 at Thebacha Campus in Fort Smith;
- In fall 2027, The College will be adding Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Social Work programs;
- Blended distance deliveries of Personal Support Worker Certificate and Early Learning and Child Care Certificate/Diploma programs have been developed and successfully offered since 2020, resulting in more than 100 distance graduates from the two programs;
- Aurora College continues to explore opportunities to provide new and additional programming in Fort Smith and Inuvik, as well as by distance.
