Deadline: First Week of April — Value: $250-$500 — Applicants must be full-time Aurora College students at Yellowknife North Slave Campus in good academic standing. Applicants must have demonstrated citizenship roles such as participating and contributing to college life, helping others, community volunteer work, etc. If two applicants are chosen, each will receive $250. If only one is chosen, $500 will be awarded.

Thebacha Campus Student Association Student of the Year Award

Deadline: March 31st — Value: $100 — Awarded for outstanding leadership in student interests, issues, and activities. Any student who is in a full-time program (a six-month-plus program and having a 60 percent class workload) is eligible for nomination. Staff and students are able to nominate students for this award. Nominators must give a brief summary of reasons why they feel the student qualifies. The award is dependent on the voting results of the Thebacha Campus student body. This award is by nomination by any Aurora College student member.

Deadline: TBA — Value: $1000 — This Aurora College Scholarship was established in 2009 to provide support for students from Yellowknife attending the Yellowknife / North Slave Campus of Aurora College. Applicants must be registered in a second or subsequent year of study at the Yellowknife / North Slave Campus of Aurora College and have resided in Yellowknife for a minimum of three years, prior to applying for the award. Factors taken into consideration in reviewing grant applications include community involvement, commitment to the applicant’s program of study, and economic need.

SLR Consulting Bursary For 2nd Year Students

Deadline: October 15th — Value: $1000 — This bursary is available to students who are enrolled in the 2nd year of the Environment Natural Resource Technology Program. Applicants must be residents of the Northwest Territories. First Nations, Inuit or Metis students will be given priority. Preference will be given to applicants who have achieved a minimum overall average of 70% in their first year of the program. Applicants who can clearly demonstrate their commitment to the field of Environmental and Natural Resource through involvement in related volunteer and/or paid work and/or hobbies are also preferred.

Deadline: March 26th — Value: $1000 — Stantec has established a scholarship for students attending the Environment and Natural Resources Technology Program at Aurora College. The applicant must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident enrolled full-time in the Environment and Natural Resources Technology Program. The applicant must demonstrate the ability to provide leadership or academic excellence through either a GPA of 3.0 (70% or higher) in your most recent year of College, or a letter of reference from your employer addressing your ability to provide leadership in your area of study.
