Part of this includes developing an awareness of the supports that are available to students and building these supports into your course design at times when they are needed (i.e. when introducing an assignment).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The library staff are available to support your students in a number of ways:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Embedded librarians \u2013 visiting your class at the start of the course to outline library supports and returning later in the course to remind students.\u00a0 Contact the library to schedule a visit.<\/li><li>Helping students search for reference materials, refine research questions, get copies of articles they can\u2019t access, and evaluate the quality of their sources.\u00a0 Remind your students of this throughout the course.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Fast access through the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/auroracollege.libanswers.com\/chat\/widget\/a43fde84e23965f0f57c6ccda50498f0?referer=https%3A%2F%2Fauroracollege.libguides.com%2Fhome&amp;referer_title=Library%20information%20-%20Welcome%20-%20Libraries%20Home%20at%20Aurora%20College&amp;auth_id=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chat with a Librarian<\/a>\u201d function&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-219135b4 gb-headline-text\">To best support students, you can include this information in your syllabus but also remind students of it at critical times during the course, and specifically explain how the library can help.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The library also has a series of \u201cHow Do I\u2026?\u201d guides on topics such as using the library, starting research, identifying peer-reviewed articles, evaluating sources, citing sources, and writing help.\u00a0 Review the <a href=\"https:\/\/auroracollege.libguides.com\/research\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">guides<\/a> and refer students to them as you are assigning work so they know what support is available.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The library also has a series of program specific pages called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/auroracollege.libguides.com\/guides\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Research Guides<\/a>\u201d that contain resources and tips specific to your program.\u00a0 Review the content in the guides and direct the students to them as appropriate.\u00a0 If there is specific content you would like to see in the guide, let the library know!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Instructors have a responsibility to provide every opportunity for success to their learners.&nbsp;
