DESCRIPTION:This course introduces learners to the main theories of adult learning and development and explores ways to implement theory into practice. Module I examines formal and informal contexts for adult learning and reviews a number of adult education movements in order to illustrate how context influences learning. Learners will also be introduced to global adult education and the concept of lifelong learning promoted by UNESCO. Module II consists of a survey of adult theories of change and development with a focus on stage theories and the development of reasoning. DESCRIPTION:Course Planning and Assessment is a course about how to plan courses and assess learning outcomes\, particularly for adults. It is concerned with designing learning systematically by considering learners\, content\, intended learning outcomes\, learning tasks\, pacing\, appropriate expectations\, instructional strategies\, and assessment. Course Planning and Assessment will be useful for people who want to plan workshops as well as for those who want to plan a formal educational course\, whether it be a new course or a course that has an existing course outline. It will cover the theory behind planning and present a number of models for course design. As part of this course\, learners will develop a learning assessment plan that includes of a variety of strategies and tools.
