SUMMARY:Adult Learning Theory (Prerequisite – Elements of Instruction)
DESCRIPTION:This course introduces learners to the main theories of adult learning and development and explores ways to implement theory into practice. Module I examines formal and informal contexts for adult learning and reviews a number of adult education movements in order to illustrate how context influences learning. Learners will also be introduced to global adult education and the concept of lifelong learning promoted by UNESCO. Module II consists of a survey of adult theories of change and development with a focus on stage theories and the development of reasoning.
