As of April 1, 2022, the NWT COVID-19 Public Health Emergency will end, which will result in the lifting of all public health orders made in relation to it.

However, in order to ensure the health and safety of the Aurora College community and residents of the NWT, Aurora College will continue follow our current COVID-19 safety procedures until at least the end of the current academic year (June 30).

Those procedures include mandatory masking in all areas of all College facilities, enhanced cleaning, physical distancing where possible, and encouraging regular handwashing and the use of hand sanitizer. In compliance with Health Canada recommendations, Aurora College requires 3-layer non-medical masking as a minimum standard.  This includes 3-layer disposable or cloth masks or the five-layer N95 or KN95 masks which are available commercially.

We will regularly review and amend our processes as required to support the health and safety of our students, employees and communities and share any changes or new information through Aurora College email and website.

As COVID-19 is still present in most communities, we continue to ask students and employees to stay home if: you are not feeling well, live with an individual who is not feeling well, or have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
