Our Instructional Skills Workshop is designed to enhance the teaching effectiveness of both new and experienced facilitators and trainers. Each workshop can accommodate from eight participants to ensure personal skills development time.
Using experiential learning, participants learn the theory and practice of teaching adult learners, the selection and writing of useful learning objectives within lesson plans, techniques for eliciting learner participation, and suggestions for evaluation of learning. In groups, participants also have the opportunity to discuss various teaching and learning topics unique to their environments.
Participants review basic ideas about teaching, check current practices, and within the safe environment of the workshop, try new strategies and techniques.
During this 2-day workshop participants design and conduct three “mini-lessons” and receive feedback from the facilitator and other participants who have been learners in the mini-lessons. This is an immersive collaborative and collegial learning environment and full attendance is required.
